I've lately been scouting the web for alternative ways to run lemur on other devices than just tablets/phones only.
I came across this Dell P2418HT
www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/dell-p2418ht-monitor
Reviews seems good and made for artistic usage. Like drawing etc. So I think it the touch surface is more than fine for this.
When I did a bit of searching I found out that it supposed to run with Android without the need of any drivers.
So what Android device would be perfect for this screen?
Well in Liine’s own android support list they state that lemur will run on Nvidia Shield. Personally all devices I tested besides my Sony android tv that didn't want to start lemur, then all of them worked and ran ok. And I say ok because it was nothing compared to my iPad air2 and iPad pro-2016.
But there is a reason why I found. Because spec wise the android devices I tested all hat decent CPU’s and should easy be able to deal with all the button pushing. But since Lemur is a pure vector based GUI, then of course it all runs on the GPU..
And these devices didn't have really good GPU's.
And of course, both of my iPads have great GPU's so should be a no brainer that the device should have a really good GPU and most android boxes don't have.
But Nvidia shield tv box don't only have a great GPU, it also tells the ipads GPUs please move aside and i show you real performance.
So combined we should get a 24-inch lemur surface with same or better FPS performance as the Expensive big Ipads.
And Cheaper.
But of course, this is all just in my head right now. But if anybody out there have tried similar solutions let me know.
But this will properly be my next step to expand my lemur touch panels.
